Review by Marina Romanik

Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA golf instructor in Utrecht. I love courses where you can play a full round in less time and still feel you’ve been tested. Nine smart holes can teach you more than eighteen easy ones. That’s the kind of golf I enjoy sharing with my students.
Amsterdam Old Course has been part of the city’s golf story since 1934. What makes it truly special is who shaped it: the famous design partnership of Colt, Alison & Morrison. Harry Colt and his partners are among the most respected names in golf course design, and their work here gives this nine-hole layout a quality you can feel on every shot.
Set in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht, the course is open all year and welcomes visitors. It plays as a challenging nine, which means it rewards thoughtful golf. You think about each shot, pick your target, and enjoy the satisfaction when your plan works. For an improving player, that is exactly the kind of practice that makes you better.
There is plenty here beyond the course itself. A driving range lets you warm up and groove your swing. A golf academy and on-site lessons mean help is always close by. After your round, the restaurant is a friendly place to relax and talk through your highlights.
I find this course is best for golfers who want a true test without a long day, juniors learning the game, and ladies’ groups — there’s a ladies’ program too. Beginners and expats are warmly welcome, and with English and Dutch both spoken at reception, you’ll feel at home from the start.

A course designed by great architects deserves a confident swing. A handful of lessons can make a real difference here: better contact, smarter club choices, and a calmer mind over each shot. Wherever you choose to play, a little coaching turns a tricky round into a fun one.
I teach all ages and all levels — children, adults, beginners and players who want to sharpen their game. My lessons are positive, relaxed and easy to follow, in Dutch, English, Ukrainian or Russian.
If you’d like to enjoy golf more and lower your scores, come and learn with me. Book a lesson with Marina Romanik online, send me a WhatsApp, or give me a call — I’d love to help you play your best golf.
