Four nines by Gerard Jol
From the club’s own description, Drentsche Golf & Country Club sets out 36 holes as four separate nine-hole loops — Geel, Rood, Wit and a par-3 nine — designed by Gerard Jol and laid across the parkland of Zeijerveen. Four loops means you mix and match your round: play a gentle nine, or link two together for a full eighteen, and the course still feels fresh the next time you come back.
Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.3 out of 10 from 600 ratings, and on Hole19 it sits at 4.5 out of 5 from 149 ratings. The club runs its own golf academy, and the practice side is complete: a covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers.
Who does it suit? A lot of players, honestly. Marina's note for learners
A four-loop layout with a par-3 nine is ideal for teaching progression — I recommend starting on the shorter nine to build confidence before stepping onto the full parkland. With an on-site academy and a covered, floodlit driving range, DGCC is a good place to combine structured practice with a proper round.

Gerard Jol’s parkland runs through trees and quiet Drenthe countryside, and a course like this rewards a repeatable swing more than raw power — placing the ball, not just crushing it. That control is the part I most enjoy teaching, and it travels with you to any of the four loops here.
