Drentsche Golf & Country Club (Zeijerveen)

Review by Marina Romanik

Every great round starts small

Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA golf instructor with a simple belief: golf should feel fun from your very first swing. I’ve helped beginners, juniors and busy adults find the joy in this game, and I love seeing the moment it all clicks. Wherever you tee off, a little good guidance goes a long way.

Big space, warm welcome

The Drentsche Golf & Country Club, known to friends as DGCC, sits in the quiet green countryside of Drenthe, near Zeijerveen. With 36 holes of golf, this is a generous, spacious place to play. You can come back many times and still discover a new line, a new hole, a new favourite spot. That kind of variety keeps the game fresh and exciting.

What I love most here is how welcoming it feels. DGCC is a pay-and-play course, so visitors are warmly received — you do not need to be a member to enjoy a round. There is a real driving range, a putting green and a short-game area, which is everything a learner needs to build a swing step by step. With a golf academy on site, a friendly pro shop, and a cosy restaurant with a bar and terrace, you can practise, play, and then relax with a drink and a view.

This course is a lovely choice for beginners. The space, the practice facilities and the short course mean you can start gently and grow your confidence at your own pace. Buggies and trolleys are available, dogs are welcome, and the club plays year-round, so there is always a good day to come and swing.

Play it with a little help

A course this big is even more fun when your swing feels easy and reliable. A few lessons can do exactly that — smoother contact, straighter shots, and more good moments to enjoy across all those holes.

I’m Marina Romanik, and I teach at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen. My lessons are warm, simple and fun, in Dutch, English, Ukrainian or Russian. Whether you are picking up a club for the first time or sharpening a game you already love, I’ll meet you exactly where you are.
