A heathland classic
The Eindhovensche Golf in Valkenswaard is one of those courses that golfers talk about with a warm smile. It is a full 18-hole course laid out on heathland — the open, sandy landscape with heather and pine that gives a round here its calm, natural beauty. The course was designed by Harry S. Colt, among the more respected names in golf architecture, and his thoughtful hand is felt on every hole.
The land is shaped into two loops, so the round flows naturally and brings you back near the clubhouse. From the clubhouse and its terrace you look out over holes 1, 9, 16 and 18, and over the lovely Galgenven lake, which is part of the course itself. It is a beautiful place to sit with a coffee and watch golf, or to rest after your round and talk about the shots you played.
This is a course that rewards thinking, not just power. Every hole asks you a gentle question — where to place your ball, which club to choose, how to read the ground.
