Hello, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor. Golf, to me, is one of life’s great pleasures — a walk through beautiful nature, a chance to think clearly, and a game you can keep enjoying your whole life. I love showing players of every age and level how rewarding it feels when the swing finally clicks. And great courses make that feeling even sweeter.
A true heathland classic
Golf & Country Club De Dommel has a wonderful story. It was founded all the way back in 1929, which makes it one of the older golf clubs in the Netherlands. The course was laid out by H.S. Colt, one of the most respected golf architects in the world. When a course carries his name, golfers everywhere take notice — and De Dommel is a gem.
The setting is the historic Zegenwerp estate near Sint-Michielsgestel in Noord-Brabant. This is classic heathland golf: rolling fairways, soft drift sand, strategic bunkers placed exactly where they make you think, and grand lanes of monumental oak and beech trees. Around twelve holes wind through woodland and heath, while six open up into peaceful countryside. It feels timeless, natural, and beautifully quiet.
This is a challenging course in the best sense. Colt’s design rewards smart play more than pure power — placement, patience, and a clear plan from the tee. That is exactly the kind of golf that helps you grow as a player. You leave thinking about your game, in a good way.
Best for improving players who want to test their skills on a historic, thoughtfully designed course, and for anyone who simply loves walking through gorgeous old heathland. Visitors with a handicap are warmly welcome (an introduction applies), so it makes a special day out. With a friendly academy, lessons on site, and a junior program, De Dommel also has a real heart for young golfers and learners.

Do I need a handicap to play at De Dommel?
Yes, a valid handicap (Dutch GVB or equivalent) is required. Visitors are warmly welcome, but an introduction from a member applies — contact the club in advance at 073-551 9168 or [email protected] to arrange your round.
