Golf with a smile
Hi, I am Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor. I believe golf should feel light, fun and welcoming from the very first swing. Whether you have never held a club or you already play and want to get better, my goal is the same: help you enjoy this wonderful game more. I teach in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian, so everyone feels at home.
A green Friesian gem
Golf & Country Club Lauswolt sits on a beautiful 100-hectare estate in the forests of Friesland, near the village of Beetsterzwaag. The course was founded in 1964, so it has had many years to grow into the landscape. Tall trees, soft heathland and birch woods give it a calm, natural feeling, and the gentle Koningsdiep river borders the estate.
It is an 18-hole parkland course laid out in two loops. The inner holes wind through mature woodland, while the outer holes open up with heathland and water — a lovely mix that keeps every round interesting. The setting is so special that Lauswolt has been named Best Golf Resort in the Netherlands by Leading Courses several times. That is a wonderful sign of how much golfers enjoy their day here.
There is plenty to help you play well, too. A covered driving range means you can practise in any weather, and there is a putting green and a short-game area to sharpen the parts of your game that save the most shots. With a golf academy on site, a friendly clubhouse, a restaurant and a sunny terrace, it is an easy place to spend a whole, happy day.
Best for golfers who love peaceful, leafy surroundings, and for beginners and juniors who want to learn in a calm, beautiful place. Lauswolt welcomes visitors and has a junior program, so families and new players are made to feel at home. A handicap is needed and you play here with an introduction, which keeps the course relaxed and well cared for.

Do I need a handicap to play at Golf & Country Club Lauswolt?
Yes, a valid handicap (GVB or equivalent) is required, and you need an introduction from a member or a stay at the hotel. This keeps the course relaxed and beautifully maintained for everyone who plays.

Is Lauswolt suitable for beginners and juniors?
Absolutely. Lauswolt is beginner-friendly and has an active junior programme, so younger and newer golfers are made to feel very welcome. The on-site golf academy means lessons are available if you want to build your confidence before stepping onto the course.
What practice facilities are available?
There is a covered driving range — so you can practise whatever the weather — plus a putting green and a short-game area. These are exactly the areas that save the most shots, making it a great place to sharpen your game.
Is there a restaurant and parking at Lauswolt?
Yes, the clubhouse has a full restaurant and a sunny terrace, perfect for a leisurely lunch or a well-earned drink after your round. Parking is available on site at Van Harinxmaweg 8-A in Beetsterzwaag.
Can Marina Romanik give me golf lessons at Lauswolt?
Marina teaches at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen, not at Lauswolt itself. A lesson with her before your visit will make those forest fairways and water holes much more enjoyable — book online, send a WhatsApp, or give her a call.
