Woodland golf in the hills
This is a proper country-club retreat in Groesbeek, in the green hills of Gelderland — also known as Het Rijk van Nijmegen. What makes it special is the scale and the setting. Forty-five holes across four loops, so you can come back many times and always find a fresh round to play. The land here rolls gently through the Zevenheuvelenweg hills, and on a clear day the views reach across the border into Germany.
The Nijmegen course gives you matured parkland fairways lined with tall trees and more than 75 bunkers — enough sand to keep your short game honest, and enough beauty to keep you smiling anyway. It is a woodland kind of golf: quiet, leafy, a little private. Many golfers tell the same story after a first visit — they came for one round and stayed for coffee on the terrace, already planning the next one.
The best part for anyone still learning? You do not need a handicap or GVB card. It is pay-and-play, visitors are welcome, and you can book your tee time online in a minute. That makes it a lovely, low-pressure place to enjoy the game — whether you are new to golf or simply want a peaceful day in the trees.
