Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor based in Utrecht. I love this game because it gives you fresh air, good company, and a new little challenge on every hole. Whether you have never held a club or you already break 90, I teach in a relaxed, friendly way — in Dutch, English, Ukrainian or Russian — so the lesson always fits you.

Four landscapes, one round

Golfbaan Het Woold sits in the green countryside of Heusden, near Asten in Noord-Brabant, right beside the Nationaal Park De Groote Peel. It opened in 2000 and was shaped by course designer Han Wessels, who let the natural land lead the way. The result is a soft, heathland-style course where you really feel close to nature.

What makes Het Woold special is its variety. The 27 holes wind through four different natural landscapes, so the scenery keeps changing as you play. With three nine-hole loops to choose from, you can mix and match your round and enjoy a fresh view every time you visit. The layout plays to a par of 72, with a calm, fair character that rewards smart, steady golf rather than pure power.

The warm welcome here is no secret. Golfers have voted Het Woold the most hospitable golf course in the Netherlands for ten years running, and the best price-quality course in the country for ten years too. It also earned a Golfers’ Choice 2026 ranking — top five in Noord-Brabant and inside the national top twenty. That kind of love from real golfers tells you everything about the friendly spirit of this place.

For learners, Het Woold is a joy. It is a pay-and-play course, so you do not need a handicap to come and play — just book a tee time online and arrive. There is a shorter course on site to build confidence, plus a covered and floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers. Beginners, juniors and improving players all have room to grow here, and the quiet, natural setting makes every practice swing feel easy and unhurried.
