A warm welcome to the game
Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor based in Utrecht. I love helping people fall for this game — children, adults, beginners taking their very first swing, and players who want to sharpen what they already have. I teach in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian, so everyone feels at home with me. Golf should feel friendly and fun from the first ball, and that is exactly the feeling I want you to have here.
A proper 18-hole test
Golfbaan Houtrak sits in Halfweg, in the green countryside of Noord-Holland near Amsterdam. It is a full 18-hole course with a real championship feel — the kind of layout that rewards good thinking and gives stronger players plenty to enjoy, while still welcoming everyone who comes to play. Because the course carries that championship character, a golf handicap (GVB) is asked for on the course itself, which keeps the round flowing nicely for all.
What I love most about Houtrak is how complete it is as a golf home. The practice facilities are excellent: a driving range to warm up and groove your swing, a putting green to find your touch, and a dedicated short-game area to practise the chips and pitches that save so many shots. There is an academy on site, a pro shop for anything you need, and a comfortable restaurant with a bar and terrace where you can relax after your round and talk through the highlights.
Houtrak is also wonderfully open to new and young golfers. Visitors are welcome, juniors are welcome, and there is a junior programme to bring the next generation into the game. With pay-and-play access, year-round golf, and easy parking, it is a relaxed and practical place to spend a morning or afternoon. Whether you are building your first steady swing or fine-tuning a championship-level game, there is room here for you to grow.

Yes on both counts. The clubhouse has a comfortable restaurant with a bar and terrace — a lovely spot to relax after your round. Parking is available on site.
