Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA golf instructor based in Utrecht. I love how golf rewards curiosity — there is always one more thing to learn, one swing that feels a little better than the last. Whether you are brand new to the game or already chasing a lower score, I am here to make your golf simpler, calmer and a lot more fun.
A welcoming city course
Golfbaan Sloten sits in the green Sloterweg countryside on the western edge of Amsterdam, a parkland setting that feels surprisingly peaceful for a course so close to the city. With 9 holes, it is a relaxed, manageable round — perfect when you want good golf without giving up your whole day. The fairways wind through trees and open grass, and the layout keeps you thinking, so even confident players find it a satisfying test.
What I really like about Sloten is how easy it makes it to start. You can simply turn up and play — it is a pay-and-play course, no handicap certificate needed — and a 9-hole green fee starts at just €17. There is a covered driving range, so you can practise whatever the weather, plus a golf academy on site and a friendly restaurant with a bar and terrace to relax afterwards. It is open all year and welcomes visitors warmly.
This makes Sloten a wonderful place for beginners, for players returning to the game, and for anyone who wants an affordable, low-pressure round. There is a ladies’ programme too, and lessons are available — so it is a lovely spot to build your skills step by step.
