Golfbaan Zeumeren (Voorthuizen)

Review by Marina Romanik

Golf made simple

Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf teacher based in Utrecht. I love showing new golfers that this game is easier — and more fun — than it looks. My students come from every background and every age, and many of them swing a club for the very first time with me. If that’s you, places like this one are exactly where the joy of golf begins.

A friendly short course

Golfbaan Zeumeren in Voorthuizen is a 9-hole par-3 course, and that makes it one of my favourite kinds of place to recommend. A par-3 course means every hole is short, so you spend your time hitting the shots that matter most: approach shots, chips, and putts. There is no pressure to hit the ball a huge distance. Instead, you get to enjoy the game and feel that lovely click of a good shot, again and again.

This is a true pay-and-play course. You do not need a handicap or a golf card to come and play, and visitors are always welcome. You can book your round online, walk on, and start golfing. For anyone who wants to try the sport without a big commitment, that open and easy welcome means a lot.

The green fee is gentle on your wallet, too — around €21 for 9 holes. There is a golf academy on site, a restaurant, and a bar with a terrace, so after your round you can sit down, relax, and enjoy the moment with a drink and a chat.

Best for beginners, juniors, and anyone returning to golf. Short par-3 holes are the perfect classroom. They build your confidence one swing at a time, they sharpen the short game that decides your score, and they let children and new players succeed quickly. If you are an expat looking for a warm, low-pressure place to learn this beautiful Dutch pastime, a 9-hole par-3 course like Zeumeren is a wonderful first step.

Play better, smile more

A short course rewards good technique more than raw power, which is exactly why a few lessons make such a big difference here. With me, you learn how to chip close, how to read a green, and how to swing with rhythm instead of force. These are the skills that turn a fun day into a great score — and they are skills you keep for life.

I teach in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian, so wherever you are from, we can learn together in the language that feels easiest for you. Voorthuizen sits about a 36-minute drive from Utrecht, where I teach at Chi Chi Golf and at Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen. Whether you practise with me first and then enjoy a relaxed round at Zeumeren, or you simply want to start golfing, I would love to help you fall in love with this game.

Ready to begin? Book a lesson with Marina Romanik online, send me a WhatsApp, or give me a call. Let’s get you out on the course, having fun, and playing the golf you didn’t know you had in you.
