Open skies over the polder
Golfclub Almkreek sits in the open polder of Almkerk, in Noord-Brabant. It’s real Dutch scenery — farmhouses, quiet ditches, wide water and a big sky that keeps changing all afternoon. The course has 18 holes set out as two nine-hole loops, in the gentle parkland style, and it plays kindly. That easy, unhurried feeling is exactly what makes it such a happy place to golf while you’re still building your game.
A highlight is the practice ground. There’s a driving range with lights, so you can hit balls on a dark winter evening. There’s a putting green and a short-game area to sharpen the shots that really lower your score. And there’s an academy on site, so everything a new golfer needs is in one spot. Many beginners tell me the same story: they spend all their range time swinging the driver as hard as they can. The real progress hides in the short game, and Almkreek gives you the space to find it.
Visitors are welcome. You book your tee time online, bring your golf card, and off you go. A round of 18 costs around €52, which makes a day here one of the friendlier ones in Noord-Brabant. Play it with more confidence
A few lessons change how a course like Almkreek feels. When your grip and balance are steady, the wide fairways stop being scary and start being fun, and the little shots around the greens become the part you look forward to. That’s the work I love to do with people.

Yes, a valid golf card (GVB / handicap) is required. The course is open to visitors with introduction, so bring your NGF card or equivalent and you are very welcome to play.
