Three loops, one green day
Golfclub Gendersteyn sits in the soft green of Brabant, just outside Eindhoven. It is heathland golf, my kind of golf: purple heather, quiet stretches of forest, and open holes where the sky feels wide. What makes Gendersteyn special is how it is built. The course runs as three separate loops, so you can shape your day to your mood and your time. A shorter round when the afternoon is busy. A longer one when you want to lose yourself in it.
That three-loop layout does something lovely for people who are still learning. Golfers here often tell me the same happy thing: no two visits feel the same, and there is never that heavy “you must finish everything” pressure. You play a loop, you enjoy it, you go again another day. For a beginner, that is gold. It keeps the game light and keeps you coming back, which is exactly how confidence grows.
And Gendersteyn is set up to help you grow. There is a driving range, a putting green, a short-game area, and a golf academy, so the practice tools are right there beside the course. Golfers rate it warmly too, around 7.7 out of 10 on LeadingCourses and 4.1 on Hole19, and when I read reviews like that I mostly see the same word: friendly.
Who will love it most? Beginners and improving players, honestly. It is a gentle, encouraging place to build a real game. Juniors, ladies groups, and expats who want somewhere unhurried to start will feel at home. You do need a handicap or GVB to play, and tee times book easily online, so once you are ready it is simple to arrange.
