Noord-Nederlandse Golf & Country Club (Glimmen)

Review by Marina Romanik

Where good golf begins

Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf teacher based in Utrecht. I love helping people fall for this game — children, adults, beginners and players who already know the feeling of a sweet, clean strike. I teach in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian, so wherever you come from, we will understand each other on the first tee.

A warm welcome in Glimmen

The Noord-Nederlandse Golf & Country Club sits in the green countryside of Glimmen, in the province of Groningen. It is a club with a friendly, welcoming feel, where visitors are made to feel at home and where there is space to simply enjoy your round.

There is a lot here to help you play your best. A driving range lets you warm up and groove your swing, a putting green sharpens the part of the game that saves the most shots, and a short-game area is the perfect place to practise the little chips and pitches around the green. The club has its own golf academy, so learning and improving are part of the spirit of the place.

After your round, the restaurant is a lovely spot to relax, talk through your highlights and enjoy the calm of the club. Buggies and trolleys are available, which makes the day comfortable and easy.

I think this is a course that beginners will enjoy. Visitors are welcome with an introduction, juniors are made to feel at home, and lessons are part of club life — exactly the kind of friendly setting where new golfers grow in confidence. Group events are welcome too, so it is a happy choice for a day out with friends, family or colleagues.

Play it with more confidence

Every course feels even better when your swing feels reliable. A few lessons can turn a tense first tee into a fun one — better contact, straighter shots, and a short game that keeps your score low and your smile wide.

If you’d like to enjoy your golf more, I would love to help. I teach at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and at Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen, and I welcome all ages and levels with patience, warmth and a lot of fun. Wherever you choose to play, a few good lessons will make every round more rewarding.
