Golf should feel welcoming
Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor. I love helping people fall for this game, whether you have never held a club or you already play every week. My lessons are warm, simple and fun, and I teach in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian. Everyone is welcome on the course with me.
Open golf in the polder
Golfclub Hitland sits in the green heart of the Randstad, in the open polder landscape between Gouda and Rotterdam. The course is part of the lovely Park Hitland recreational area near Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, so you play surrounded by space, water and quiet Dutch countryside. It is a friendly parkland course with 18 holes, founded in 1995, and it has grown into a place that feels relaxed and easy to enjoy.
What I really like about Hitland is how open it is. This is a public course where everyone is welcome — you do not need to be a member, and you do not need a handicap to start. That makes it a wonderful place to begin your golf journey or to play a free, easy round whenever you like. You can book your tee time online, and the course is open all year.
The facilities here are made for learning and practice. There is a covered, floodlit driving range, so you can hit balls in any weather and even after dark. Add a putting green and a short-game area, and you have everything you need to sharpen the parts of golf that lower your scores the most. There is a golf academy on site, a pro shop, plus a restaurant with a bar and terrace where you can relax after your round. Buggies and trolleys are available too.
Hitland is especially good for beginners and improving players. The open, fair layout gives you room to swing and learn without pressure, and the short course is a gentle, encouraging way to take your first real steps onto a green.
