Review by Marina Romanik

Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor. I love watching the moment golf “clicks” for someone — the first clean strike, the first putt that drops. I teach players of every age and level, in Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian, and my goal is simple: to make your golf better and a lot more fun.
Golfclub Rijnauwen sits in the green countryside of Bunnik, just east of Utrecht. It is a parkland course, which means soft grass, mature trees and quiet, leafy surroundings — the kind of setting where a round of golf feels relaxing from the very first tee.
With nine holes, Rijnauwen is wonderfully welcoming. A nine-hole layout is perfect when you want a satisfying round without a full day on the course, and you can always play it twice for a complete eighteen. It is the ideal size for warm, focused golf — long enough to test your game, short enough to stay easy and enjoyable.
The club is part of a friendly golfing community near the Kromme Rijn, and it is affiliated with the Dutch golf federation (NGF). There is a clubhouse with a restaurant where you can sit down after your round, share your best shots, and enjoy the calm green views. It is a place that feels personal and warm rather than big and busy.
What makes Rijnauwen especially close to my heart is its own golf academy. This is a course that believes in teaching and in helping players grow. Beginners are welcome here, juniors have a real place with a dedicated junior program, and there is a ladies program too. Group events are part of the fun, so it is a lovely spot to learn together with friends or family.
So who will enjoy Rijnauwen most? Beginners who want a gentle, encouraging start. Juniors taking their first swings. Improving players who like a relaxed, manageable round close to the city. And expats looking for a friendly, green escape just minutes from Utrecht — the course is only a short drive away, which makes it easy to pop out for golf even on a busy day.
