Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor. I love courses that slow the world down and let you simply enjoy the walk, the swing, and the company. This is one of those special places, and I’m happy to share it with you.

A green estate to savour

Golfclub Landgoed Nieuwkerk sits on a peaceful country estate in Goirle, in the quiet North Brabant countryside. It is a 9-hole parkland course, which means soft fairways framed by mature trees, open green spaces, and that gentle, leafy calm that makes a round here feel like a small escape.

The course was shaped by Martin Hawtree, one of the most respected names in golf design. His courses are known for flowing naturally with the land, and you feel that here: each of the nine holes has its own character, with a smart, well-thought layout that asks you to plan your shots. At par 36 and around 2,119 metres, it is rated as a challenging course, so it rewards a steady swing and good decisions. Play it twice for a full eighteen, and you’ll notice how the holes reveal new lines the second time around.

There is plenty to love beyond the fairways. A covered, floodlit driving range, a putting green, a short-game area and practice bunkers mean you can warm up properly before you tee off. There’s a golf academy on site, buggy rental if you’d like an easy ride, and a welcoming restaurant where you can relax with a meal once the round is done. Golfers clearly enjoy it — Nieuwkerk holds a lovely 8.3 out of 10 on LeadingCourses.

This is a course best for golfers who already have a handicap and enjoy a thoughtful, scenic challenge. The club runs on an introduction basis, so it stays quiet and friendly.
