Hawtree’s nine on the estate
Golfclub Landgoed Nieuwkerk sits on a quiet country estate near Goirle, in the green heart of North Brabant. The club’s own website describes a 9-hole parkland course laid out by the respected British architect Martin Hawtree, playing to par 36 over 2,119 metres. You play the loop twice for a full round — and because Hawtree shaped the fairways with care, the two times round the estate never feel the same.
Golfers rate it warmly. On LeadingCourses it holds 8.3 out of 10 from 273 ratings, and on Hole19 it scores 4.5 out of 5 from 48 ratings (checked 26 September 2026). Those are strong numbers for a nine-hole club, and they say a lot about how the course plays and how it is kept.

Control before distance
A Hawtree parkland nine at par 36 rewards a repeatable swing and smart iron play far more than raw power — you want to find the right part of each fairway and give yourself clean looks at the green. That balance between control and course management is the part of the game I most enjoy teaching, and it is exactly what pays off on a layout like this one.
