Golf- & Country Club Liemeer lies in the Groene Hart at Nieuwveen, the green heart of Holland between Leiden and Amsterdam. Alan Rijks laid out the 27 holes here in 2007, set across open polder land in two loops. From the club’s own description, the course plays over classic Dutch lowland ground: wide skies, water features and wind that shapes every shot. The par is 72.
Golfers on LeadingCourses give it 8.3 out of 10 from 1,010 ratings, and on Hole19 the course scores a full 5.0 out of 5 (checked 11 October 2026). In 2025 Liemeer earned its GEO certificate, the mark of a course managed with care for its land and nature.
Liemeer is a challenging polder layout, and the wind off the open fields keeps even strong players honest. It suits golfers who want to test their game across two varied loops. Because there is a golf academy on site and the club is pay-and-play, it is also a warm place for beginners and juniors to grow — a lesson or two first, and the challenge turns into a pleasure.

Marina's note for learners
A two-loop course gives a learner real variety — I encourage my students to use one loop as a practice set and the other to put new habits under pressure. If you are just starting out, a lesson at the academy before your first full round makes every hole more enjoyable.

Where the wind decides
On open polder land, the wind is the real designer. A low, controlled ball flight and a steady rhythm matter far more here than raw power. Before a round in the Groene Hart, that flighting and smart wind play is exactly the part of the game I most enjoy teaching.
