Review by Marina Romanik

Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor with a simple belief: golf should feel fun from your very first swing. I teach players of every age and level, in Dutch, English, Ukrainian or Russian — whatever puts you at ease. My job is to make the game click for you, one relaxed lesson at a time.
Golfclub Oude Maas sits in Rhoon, in the green countryside just south of Rotterdam, taking its name from the old river that winds through this part of Zuid-Holland. It’s a welcoming parkland course, where 18 holes weave between trees, water and gentle open spaces. Parkland courses like this one are a joy to walk: leafy, calm, and full of little views that make you want to keep playing.
What I love most about Oude Maas is how much it offers a player who wants to grow. There’s a golf academy, a friendly pro shop, and a restaurant where you can relax after your round. The club is NGF-affiliated and you can book your tee time online, which makes a visit easy to plan. It’s a beginner-friendly place too, so new golfers feel right at home rather than rushed.
The club also runs group events and a ladies program, so it’s a great spot if you want to play with friends or join other women who are learning and enjoying the game together. For improving players, juniors, beginners and expats alike, Oude Maas is the kind of place where a good round feels within reach — and where every visit teaches you something new.

A relaxed parkland course like Oude Maas rewards a smooth, confident swing — and that’s exactly what we build together in a lesson. Whether you’re picking up a club for the first time or polishing your short game, a few sessions with me can turn a tricky hole into your favorite one. Wherever you play, the right small adjustments make the whole game more fun.
I teach at Chi Chi Golf in Utrecht and at Golfschool Hoenderdaal in Driebergen, and I’d love to help you enjoy golf even more. Book a lesson with me, Marina Romanik, and let’s get your game ready for days out on courses like this. See you on the green!
Yes, a valid handicap card (GVB) is required to play the 18-hole course. The club is NGF-affiliated, so your Dutch NGF handicap is accepted. If you are still working towards your GVB, the on-site golf academy is a great place to get started.
Oude Maas is a members-and-introduction club, meaning guests are welcome when introduced by a member. The easiest way to arrange a visit is to contact the club directly at 010-5015135 or via the website, and they will point you in the right direction.
Yes, Golfclub Oude Maas offers online tee-time booking through their website at golfcluboudemaas.nl, making it easy to plan your round in advance.
Absolutely. The club is beginner-friendly and has a full golf academy on site, so new players can take lessons and build their skills in a welcoming environment. There is also a ladies programme for those who prefer to learn in a group with other women.
The club has a driving range, a golf academy, a pro shop, and a restaurant where you can relax after your round. Group events and corporate golf days are also organised here.
