Review by Marina Romanik

I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA golf instructor in Utrecht, and I have a soft spot for courses where the weather is part of the game. Links golf — open, breezy, and honest — teaches you to read the wind, trust a low punch shot, and stay calm when the sky is wide. Reymerswael is exactly that kind of place, and it makes me smile every time I think about it.
Golfpark Reymerswael sits in Rilland, right where North Brabant, Zeeland, and Flanders meet. Opened in 1986 and shaped by Alan Rijks and Joan Dudok van Heel, it is a true links-style layout — 18 holes, par 71, rolling over gently moving terrain with low vegetation and dunes placed just where they make you think.
What stays with you here is the openness. You play under big Zeeland skies, with sweeping views over the Schelde-Rijn Canal, the Westerschelde, and the Brabantse Wal. Fresh sea air, room to breathe, and a course that asks you to be smart rather than just strong. The wind is your playing partner — sometimes a friend, sometimes a cheeky opponent — and learning to work with it is one of golf’s great joys.
There is a real warmth to the place, too. Reymerswael is pay-and-play, so no handicap or GVB card is needed — you book a tee time and go. That relaxed format makes it wonderful for beginners and for golfers still working toward their first handicap. With a driving range, a putting green, and an academy on site, you can warm up, find your rhythm, and keep improving. And after your round, the restaurant is there for a relaxed finish to a complete day out.
It’s a course that rewards curiosity. Players who enjoy reading the land, shaping shots, and feeling the rhythm of true links golf will love every hole — and improving players will find it a brilliant teacher.
Two home clubs in the Utrecht region — choose what fits your week.

Links golf is more fun when you have a few shots you can trust in the wind — a steady set-up, a clean low ball flight, and the calm to enjoy the open space rather than fight it. That confidence is exactly what a few good lessons give you.
