Golfclub Rozenstein lies in Wassenaar, in the leafy stretch of Zuid-Holland just north of The Hague. It is a parkland course, which means gentle, tree-lined fairways and quiet green surroundings — the kind of setting where you slow down and simply enjoy being outside.

What I like most is how complete it is. There are 18 holes for a full round, plus a separate short course when you want a quick, low-pressure game. Add a driving range, a putting green, a golf academy, and a pro shop, and you have a place where you can warm up, take a lesson, and play — all without moving your car. After your round, the clubhouse restaurant is waiting, and buggies and trolleys are there to rent so the day stays comfortable for every age.

Rozenstein is an NGF-affiliated members’ club, and yes, you will need a valid handicap (GVB) to play — visitors are warmly welcomed, you just arrange it with the club first. Many new golfers tell me the same thing: they worry a members’ club will feel closed or a little cold. Here it is the opposite. The academy and the junior program tell you everything — this is a club that likes to grow golfers, not just host them.

Who will enjoy it most? Beginners, because you can learn, practise your short game, and play a proper round in one spot. Juniors, thanks to the dedicated youth program — a lovely place for kids and teenagers to fall in love with the game. And improving players who want a calm, well-kept parkland course to sharpen their scoring.

A good course like Rozenstein rewards good technique. Nothing complicated — grip, stance, balance, a reliable short game. When these feel natural, a parkland round becomes so much more fun, and your score follows.
