Review by Marina Romanik
Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor based in Utrecht. I believe golf should feel light, fun and full of small wins — not stiff or stressful. Whether you have never held a club or you already play, I love helping people enjoy this game a little more every lesson.
Golfclub Sellingerbeetse sits in the green countryside of the Groningen region, near the village of Sellingen. It is the kind of welcoming club where new players feel at home and regulars keep coming back. The 18-hole course gives you plenty of golf to enjoy, with space to breathe and a calm, natural setting all around you.
What I like most here is how much the club supports learning. There is a driving range and a putting green, so you can warm up and practice your swing before you head out. A golf academy and lessons on site mean help is always close by. After your round, the clubhouse with its restaurant, bar and terrace is a lovely spot to relax, share stories and enjoy the view.
This is a course that says “you are welcome here”. Visitors are warmly received, and you can book your tee time online with ease. The club is wheelchair accessible too, so more people can share the joy of being out on the grass.
Sellingerbeetse is wonderful for beginners and juniors. With a junior program and a short course to build confidence, young players and first-timers can grow at their own pace. If you are starting your golf journey, or bringing the children along, this is a friendly, low-pressure place to fall in love with the game.

Every course is more fun when your swing feels reliable — and that is exactly what we build together in a lesson. A few simple lessons can turn frustrating shots into confident ones, so wherever you tee off, you spend more time enjoying the game and less time searching for your ball.
I teach all ages and all levels, from total beginners to players who want to sharpen their short game. I speak Dutch, English, Ukrainian and Russian, so you can learn in the language that feels easiest for you. My lessons are relaxed, friendly and full of encouragement — because golf should make you smile.
