Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor. I love watching a player relax, swing freely, and suddenly get it — that moment when golf clicks. I teach every age and level, in Dutch, English, Ukrainian or Russian, and my goal is always the same: to make your golf simpler, calmer, and a lot more fun. Some courses teach you something just by playing them. This is one of those special places.

A century of heathland golf

Rosendaelsche Golfclub was founded in 1895, which makes it one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. It sits on the Veluwe near Arnhem, inside a protected Natura 2000 nature area, so you play surrounded by genuine Dutch heath and woodland. The air, the colours of the heather, the quiet between the trees — it feels timeless.

The 18-hole layout was shaped by the respected architect Frank Pennink, and it is a true heathland course: par 72, around 6,057 metres, with a course rating of 72.3 and a slope of 132. There are no water hazards here. Instead the challenge is pure and classic — narrow fairways, clever greens, and bunkers placed exactly where they make you think. Every shot asks a small question: where do I want to be next?

That is what makes Rosendaelsche so rewarding. It is a championship-level course, so it gives the most to a golfer who already has a steady, accurate game. But it is also a wonderful teacher. Play it once and you quickly see which parts of your game it loves — a controlled drive, a confident approach, a soft touch on the greens. Off the course you’ll find everything you need to grow into it: a driving range, a putting green, a golf academy, and a pro shop. When you’re done, the restaurant and terrace are the perfect place to enjoy the setting and talk through your round.
