Hi, I’m Marina Romanik, a PGA-certified golf instructor with a soft spot for the moment someone hits their very first clean shot. Golf does not have to be hard or stuffy to be fun. I love courses where you can grab your clubs, relax, and just play — and where every shot teaches you something. That joyful, low-pressure feeling is exactly what you find here.
A friendly short course
Short Golf Utrecht sits at Sportpark Galecop in Nieuwegein, right in the Utrecht region. It is a welcoming 18-hole short course built around the par-3 game — the part of golf where most strokes are won or lost. Nine of the holes are gentle par-3s with no water to worry about, perfect for finding your rhythm. The other nine mix par-3 and par-4 holes with pretty water features that add a little sparkle and a fun challenge once you feel ready.
Because it is a par-3 layout, the course plays quickly and stays kind to your confidence. You walk on, you play, you smile. There is a driving range, a putting green and a short-game practice area, so you can warm up properly before you head out. The clubhouse has a restaurant and a terrace where you can sit with a drink after your round and watch others play.
It is open all year, anyone is welcome, no handicap is needed, and you can book your time online. That makes it one of the easiest places to start playing golf near Utrecht.
Best for: beginners taking their first swings, juniors learning the game, families playing together, and improving players who want to sharpen their wedges and putting. Expats new to the Netherlands love it too — it is an easy, friendly door into Dutch golf.

Here is a little secret I share with all my students: the short game is where your score really comes alive. Chipping, pitching and putting make up almost half of every round, and a short par-3 course like this is the perfect place to practice them. A few lessons with me and you will start turning loose shots into tap-in pars — and golf becomes so much more fun when the ball goes where you want.
